A Short Circuit Protected Solid State Relay permits high-current AC loads from lower voltage DC control integrated circuits. It is a Short Circuit Protected SSR model no. (SDSCP-480-25) Solid State Relay having input 5/ 12/ 24 VDC and output 48 – 530V AC rms.
The Short Circuit Protected Solid State Relay can switch current loads and consists of a zero cross trigger control method. Each one of these relays is fortified with fuses to protect the solid state relays against load short circuits, particularly fast-acting fuses for small ratings. The I²t value of the fuse is less than half of the I²t value of the relay.
Solid-state relays are a better option over mechanical relays. The benefit of using SSR is that it can be interchanged by much lower current and at a much lower voltage than most mechanical relays. Solid-state relays do not contain moving contacts, so it can be substituted much faster and for longer periods without wearing out.
